Engineering Mission Our mission is to provide quality engineering and professional services in an efficient, courteous, and sensitive manner to support the citizens' needs in the City of Roanoke. We pledge to provide our services with mutual respect and recognition to our citizens and fellow employees. Vision The Engineering Division will embrace the future by providing innovative engineering services to support the citizens of the Roanoke Valley, for the betterment of the community, the economic growth of the City, and the overall enhancement of all neighborhoods. Responsibility The Engineering Division of the Department of Public Works provides engineering design services and construction administration to support utility, infrastructure, facility, and environmental capital projects for the City of Roanoke. The Division also provides production, archiving, and distribution of maps and GIS map data for the City.
